Elizabeth Bartels, Game Designer, Educator

Ms. Elizabeth Bartels is a Research Analyst at the Center for Applied Strategic Learning, the National Defense University's Gaming Center.  She graduated from the University of Chicago (AB) and holds a Master's in Comparative Political Science from MIT, where her thesis examined the strategic use of goods provision by insurgent and opposition groups in the Middle East.  As a game designer, Ms. Bartels has worked on events for audiences ranging from members of the Executive branch and the NDU community to high school students.  She is particularly interested in the use of diverse gaming methodologies to better explore political violence and civil conflict.
